Support

How to get help, and the things you can sort out yourself.

Getting in touch

WherePup is made by a very small team, so your message reaches someone who actually works on it. Email hello@wherepup.com and we'll normally reply within two working days.

It helps enormously if you can include the device you're using, roughly when the problem happened, and what you were trying to do.

Things you can do yourself

Download the shared journal record

Profile → Account & privacy → Download my data. You'll get a dated JSON record of the whole shared journal: its profiles, pups, memories, photograph details, custom labels, personal chapters and passport destinations. The file records each photograph's details and stored filename, but it does not contain the photograph files themselves.

Change your password

If you use email and a password, go to Profile → Account & privacy → Password. You'll need your current password. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, manage that sign-in with the relevant provider.

Reset a forgotten password

If you use email and a password, choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen. We'll email you a code, and you can set a new password without leaving the app.

Delete your account

Profile → Account & privacy → Delete account. You'll be asked to type a confirmation first. If you own a two-person household, remove the other person first. If you are a contributor, leave the shared journal first; memories you added remain with that household. Deletion cannot be undone, so download the data record first if you want to keep it. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription; the household owner should manage that separately in the relevant store. If you cannot use the app, follow the public account-deletion instructions.

Questions we expect

Can I keep more than one pup in WherePup?
Yes. One household can hold one or two pups, and a memory can belong to one or both.
Can somebody else add memories?
Yes. The household owner can invite one contributor. You both see the same shared journal and can add memories; the owner manages membership.
Does WherePup track where my dog goes?
No. There is no GPS, no route recording and no background location. A place is only ever text you type or choose.
Can anyone else see my memories?
Only the other person in your household, if you invite one. There is no public profile or feed, and people outside the household cannot browse the journal.
Do I need a photo to save a memory?
No. A title, date and pup selection are enough. If you add photographs, one memory can hold up to five.
How does membership work?
The first household memory is free. After that, the owner can choose a monthly or annual plan. One membership covers both people and both pups.
What happens to a memory I delete?
It is removed, along with its photographs. Deleting cannot be undone.

Reporting something serious
