Terms of Service
About these terms
These terms apply when you create an account or use WherePup. They form an agreement between you and Outbox Labs Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17394954. Our registered office is Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom.
Please read these terms together with our Privacy Notice. If you buy a subscription, the relevant Apple App Store or Google Play terms also apply.
What WherePup does
WherePup lets you create a private journal containing memories, photographs, notes, places and other details about life with your pups. You can keep a journal yourself or share it with another person in your household.
WherePup is not a veterinary, medical, safety or navigation service. Do not rely on it for professional advice, urgent information or as the only copy of anything you cannot replace.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate account information and use an email address or sign-in method you control.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at hello@wherepup.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
Sharing a household journal
A household owner can invite a contributor to share the journal. Household members can see and add to the same journal while they have access. The owner manages the household membership and subscription.
Invitation links and codes are intended only for the person invited. Do not publish them or use an invitation intended for somebody else. If a contributor leaves or is removed, they lose access to the journal. Content they added remains part of the shared journal, although their name may be replaced with a general attribution.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photographs, notes and other content you add. You give us permission to host, store, process, copy and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and maintain WherePup. This includes making suitable versions of photographs and showing content to authorised members of your household.
You must have the right to upload your content. If it includes another person, including a child, you are responsible for having an appropriate reason or permission to include it. Do not upload anything unlawful, abusive, infringing, malicious or seriously invasive of another person's privacy.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or use WherePup to store unlawful material;
- try to access another person's account, household or data without permission;
- interfere with the app, test its security without permission, or place an unreasonable load on the service;
- introduce malware or harmful code; or
- copy, resell or commercially exploit the service except where the law permits it.
Subscriptions and payments
Paid subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store shows the price, billing period and any offer that applies before you confirm payment. Apple or Google processes the payment; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store.
- You can cancel in your Apple or Google account settings. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Where the owner's membership covers the household, a contributor does not need to buy a separate subscription.
- Refund requests are generally handled through Apple or Google under the store's process. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have.
- Deleting your WherePup account does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. Cancel it separately through the store.
If a paid subscription ends, WherePup does not automatically delete the journal. Household members can continue to view the journal and export its data record, but paid creation features may be unavailable until the owner subscribes again.
Availability and changes to WherePup
We take reasonable care to keep WherePup available, but internet and software services can experience faults, maintenance and interruptions. We do not promise that the service will always be available or error-free.
We may update, replace or withdraw features where reasonably necessary, for example to improve the app, keep it secure, comply with law or respond to changes made by our service providers. If a change would materially disadvantage paying users, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain any available cancellation or export options.
Keep your own copies of original photographs. The current in-app export is a structured record of the journal and photograph details; it does not include the photograph files themselves.
Deleting or ending an account
You can delete your account through the app after completing the household safeguards. An owner must first remove the contributor; deleting the owner's account then removes the household journal. A contributor must leave the household first, and content they added remains with that journal. Deletion is permanent.
Read the account-deletion instructions before deleting. Remember that account deletion and app-store subscription cancellation are separate.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, create a security risk, or use WherePup unlawfully. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable opportunity to address the issue.
Consumer rights and our responsibility
Nothing in these terms affects rights that consumer law gives you. Nothing excludes or limits our liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for business loss where you use WherePup for a personal purpose.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to WherePup, the law or the way we operate. We will change the date at the top of this page and give reasonable advance notice in the app or by email where a change is material. A change will not take away rights you have already acquired. If you do not agree to a material change, you can stop using WherePup and cancel future subscription renewals before it takes effect.
Complaints and contact
If something is wrong, email hello@wherepup.com. Please explain the problem and how you would like us to resolve it. We will consider your complaint fairly and respond in plain English.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer living elsewhere this does not remove any mandatory protection or right to bring a claim that the law where you live gives you.
